CASE 004 FASHION & FOOTWEAR

Melissa Shoes

CASE 004 · Melissa Shoes · by way of NYP SBM TEP

Repositioning a heritage footwear label for Gen Z.

Package chosen

Content Creation - À La Carte

Melissa Shoes already had heritage, recognisable silhouettes, and a strong fashion memory. Through NYP SBM TEP, the opportunity was to make the brand feel current again with motion-first content built for younger audiences. The work did not try to replace what people remembered about Melissa; it translated that recognition into a faster, more social fashion language.

The Brief

The brand did not need a long explanation of its history. It needed content that translated that history into the present: faster, more styled, more social, and more aligned with how Gen Z and millennials discover fashion. That meant treating recognition as an advantage without allowing nostalgia to become the entire idea. A static product frame could show a silhouette clearly, but it could not demonstrate how the shoe moved through an outfit or a current cultural context. The brief was to keep the product unmistakably Melissa while building a visual rhythm that felt native to short-form feeds and younger fashion audiences.

Our Approach

We moved away from static product framing and built the reels around styling, movement, and cultural context. The product remained present throughout, but the hook came from the feeling of wearing it rather than a feature list. Motion let each silhouette appear as part of a look, giving viewers a quicker way to imagine the shoes inside their own style. The edit kept that energy concise and social-first, using pace to refresh the brand without making it unrecognisable. This balance mattered: if the execution chased novelty too aggressively, it would lose the heritage that made Melissa distinctive; if it relied only on familiarity, it would not give a younger audience a new reason to engage. The product remained the centre of every frame and transition. That continuity let the new pace feel like an evolution of the brand, not a costume.

The Result

The content reached 10K+ views across campaigns and delivered a 900%+ audience interaction uplift. Those figures support the strategic aim already visible in the work: the content gave a familiar brand a more current rhythm and prompted substantially more audience response without losing its fashion identity. Beyond those recorded outcomes, the work shows how motion-first repositioning can create reach and interaction around a heritage product without discarding the identity people already know. The campaign found a present-day social language for a recognised shoe without asking the brand to become something else. It is part of our wider content creation work for Singapore lifestyle and fashion brands.
